This app analyzes every US Government contract for FY 2011 - 2017. It includes nearly 20 million contracting actions with a total spend of over $2.72 trillion. Data was sourced from www.usaspending.gov and has been enriched with geo-spacial data for mapping capabilities.
This demonstration was developed using data from the World Health Organization (WHO) and was designed to provide insight into Ebola cases and deaths by country.
”Building up a Qlik knowledge base enables our students to excel in data analytics in the real world. Qlik is a great mechanism to teach our students the value of data exploration so that they can make smart business decisions in the future.”
”The exploratory nature of the Qlik app has facilitated more organic discussions around data where we can investigate questions in real time. We’ve used the app to analyze attendance, behavior, and academic data, to identify areas of need at the student, class, and school level, and to set and track goals”
”Qlik came in because one of the capabilities of Qlik is a thing called 'row level security' where I could publish the analytic apps, and, depending on the security of the user, [the service provider] gets to see their data. Much more efficient than me having to split up the data myself and put it into a number of paddocks, one for each provider. I could actually rely on the capability to do that.”
”Austin Fire Department used to manage by anecdote, intuition, and assumption. With Qlik, our decisions are based on data-supported facts. We can test an assumption before we act on it and measure a decision after it’s made.”
”In a position of increasing demand and reduction of resources, Qlik is transforming our insight for improving productivity, efficiency and effectiveness. It helps us democratise and make transparent intelligent insight that can be actioned from board level to the front-line officer. It is currently being used in our control room, offender management teams and by our front-line officers. We have done so much in such a short space of time; yet we feel we have only scratched the surface with it’s potential.”
”Making the link between targets and resources is an absolute necessity on a daily basis—that’s why we launched the ‘Démarche de Performance’. Thanks to Qlik, we’ve been able to make it a reality.”
”There is no doubt that Qlik has driven Gwent Police performance overall, which is improving against ever tougher standards.”
”Our agency's insight has improved tremendously, and we're just getting started.”
”Our goal was to have a central repository of data with one reporting system that could take the data from all these disparate systems, join them together, and put them out in a meaningful manner.”
”We started looking around to see what products there might be that we could provide for our jobactive providers where we could raise the bar a bit on analytics and help them understand what was going on—how they were achieving their results and where they could achieve better results.”
”With more and more data coming at us than ever before, it’s important to figure out how to distinguish between the digital exhaust versus the data that’s most important to help drive agency mission. We need to be able to answer the fundamental questions at all times without a dependency on IT: Where are my people? What are they doing? Do we have our top-tier talent working on game-changing technologies? Are we deployed properly? Yesterday’s static dashboards and lengthy decision cycles won’t work today.”
”Since implementing Qlik we have transformed how we use our data, significantly increasing its value. Previously we focused on numbers and measures in reports. Now we have information that provides insights into the system available to those we do business with, which informs decisions. As a result we are enabling system level change, and that is exciting.”
